Terms of Service — tentus

These terms govern your use of tentus, operated by elmt studio. By using tentus, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. The service

tentus is a personal knowledge management product: you capture notes, files, voice memos, and clips, and retrieve them by meaning. It includes AI features — Lumi answers questions from your own captured material, and Chief of Staff produces briefings and surfaces relevant context. Features evolve as the product develops.

2. Your account

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password and connected OAuth accounts secure.
• Activity that happens under your account.
• Keeping your own backups of anything critical.
• Complying with the laws that apply to you.

3. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to break the service.
• Use tentus for illegal purposes or to store illegal content.
• Resell or sublicense access.
• Scrape or bulk-export data for resale.
• Upload malware, or harass or harm others.

4. Intellectual property

• Your content is yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to provide the service to you.
• Our software is ours. These terms don't transfer any ownership of the tentus software, interface, or brand.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

tentus is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We aim for high availability and careful handling of your data, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, freedom from errors, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own backups of anything important.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, missed briefings, or business losses from downtime. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any.

7. Indemnification

You agree to cover claims arising from your misuse of the service or from content you upload in violation of these terms.

8. Termination

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or engages in fraud or illegal activity. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll give notice of material changes; continued use after notice means you accept them.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We'll try to resolve any dispute informally first — email juan@tentus.io and we'll work with you in good faith. Disputes not resolved informally are subject to the courts of the Dominican Republic.
